There is more in us. Most of us sense that this is a time of turbulent change. We have daily experiences of uncertainty, risk and vulnerability. To thrive, we need to be our best selves – adaptable, creative, authentic. For public services agencies to productively evolve, they need our best too. It can be challenging to show up as our better self and to bring out the best in others. We can make a shift to strengthen our courage, resilience and our expression of authentic leadership. Then we can more skillfully support others and create enduring cultures of engagement, accountability and service
NEW SEMINAR SERIES
Serving with Purpose, Courage & Resilience – The Daring Way™ in Public Service
This highly experiential methodology is an opportunity for people working in public service to discover new ways to lead and live with purpose, courage and resilience. We will explore how to “Show up, Be seen and live brave™” in important arenas of work and life.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
In the four class-sessions that compose the series, we focus on these learning objectives:
• Explore common reactions to vulnerability – including controlling, holding back, pleasing.
• Gain insight into unproductive habits – self-criticism, blame, comparison.
• Use practical tools to get “unstuck” from perfectionism, procrastination and fear.
• Practice taking risks to spark creativity, navigate change and deepen connections.
• Identify new choices and practices that sustain clarity of purpose, values and meaning.
RESULTS TO EXPECT
With integration of the insights and use of the practices learned in the series, participants can expect the following:
• Insight into historic habits and patterns and usable tools and practices to use in your everyday life and leading
• Boost to your individual performance, fulfillment and satisfaction.
• Increased resilience in the face of change and “usual” stressors.
• Ability to make a fuller contribution to creating a workplace culture of engagement – where we have self-generated accountability; where we learn from mistakes and take risks to raise our concerns in honest conversations or share our ideas/perspectives/observations. A culture of engagement is possible when we practice authentic courage.
